Why God Says We Can Cast All Of Our Cares on Him

I often hear that God cares about all the details of my life. He cares about the small details as much as He does the big ones. That's a hard concept for me to grasp. Doesn't He have much bigger things to orchestrate than my job interview or lost keys? And if so, why does it say to cast ALL our cares on Him?

Some people might say I don’t have enough faith. Some people might say I'm too logical. But really? Does He really care about my curtain dilemma and the fact that I burnt my dinner?

The Bible tells story after story about Jesus caring for the details of our lives. He cares what the birds will eat and drink. He cares when we cry. He cares about the 5,000 being hungry. He cares enough to turn water into wine. As I study these events, I see that the reason God acted upon what the people cared about was to show His power and radiate His glory.

Wow! He cares about the details, so He can use them to change our hearts and grow us closer to Him. Our lost keys are a small detail, but our heart attitude in the situation is monumental. He cares about the details because He cares about our hearts that are attached to the details.

Faith is a balance between believing that God is in control and trusting that He works everything for good. I have faith that God cares about my details, no matter how big or how small. He may make my keys appear, but even if He doesn’t, He cares about me and is helping me change and grow.

Your Turn…

What do you think? Do you think God cares about the smallest details in our lives? The details that don’t make an eternal difference? I would love to hear thoughts on why or why not.
